![]() Vanna, a 9-Year Old Doberman Pincher, Gets a Second Chance at Life Thanks to Intuitive InsightWhen I met Vanna, a 9-year old Doberman pincher, for the first time, she was close to being put down. Her owner Susan worked in the office of a veterinarian colleague of mine, Dr. Rodan. Susan said that Vanna had once been a happy, active dog. Now she had stopped eating and become lethargic and unresponsive. Dr. Rodan and Susan called me in to do a reading for Vanna. As soon as I started the reading, I knew part of Vanna’s emotional distress stemmed from environmental factors at home. Susan is a loving owner, and it’s always difficult to hear that your emotional support and home are hurting your pet. I gently suggested some changes Susan could make to help reduce Vanna’s stress. Dr. Rodan informed me that Vanna had blood in her stool. She and Susan worried that Vanna had a bleeding ulcer. I couldn’t find it intuitively. Instead I came up with other physical symptoms. Dr. Rodan and Susan confirmed them all except one. I had seen a problem in Vanna’s upper jaw above the left canine. They said there was no problem. Susan was at the end of her rope, so she tried my intuitive suggestions by changing Vanna’s home environment, giving her massages, and supplementing her diet with B vitamins and herbal remedies. They also performed an upper-gastrointestinal scope to look for an ulcer. They found nothing, just as I had said. Vanna Improves, and Intuition Finds the Root of the ProblemIn just a few weeks, Susan noticed a remarkable improvement in Vanna’s emotional behavior. Vanna was much more energetic and loving. Susan even decided to go get Vanna’s teeth cleaned. When she arrived at Dr. Rodan’s office for the cleaning, she said, “Make sure you check those canines—Karen said she thought there was something in the upper jaw above one of them.” Dr. Rodan wiggled Vanna’s left tooth gently. The tooth broke off right in Dr. Rodan’s hand, revealing a large abscess that went all the way up into the lower jaw. Because of the size and extent of the abscess, Dr. Rodan said that Vanna had probably been in pain for a long time. But without any outwards signs, she couldn’t have known. “It’s not like they can tell you what’s wrong with them,” she later told me. “Sure they can,” I said. Two weeks later, Susan reported that Vanna had regressed five years in emotional and physical self. She is back to her old, loving self.
